Thoughts

So many memories are coming back to me today... The day you were born The day you locked yourself in the bathroom at Cedar Grove and had to be rescued by someone climbing through the window! The day you kicked a Moses basket project I was working on up and down the hall shouting “there will be no more babies in this house!” The day you nearly electrocuted yourself by sticking a screwdriver in the plug of the immersion heater - that was a near miss... The day I had to find you in the “jungle” across the river at CG where you were big game hunting. The day you refused to eat eggs because you had found out where they came from! The 3 or was it 4 years you saved up your money to buy a crossbow and the day many years later you brought that same crossbow down to Ray to teach your nieces and nephews how to use it and warn them about the correct use of an elephant bolt ! The first day you went to school and insisted on wearing Dad’s flat cap because the shop didn’t have any school caps in stock! The day you got married to Ruth .. The day you became a father. . Memories flooding in covering the years of your all too short life happy, sad, funny clear as can be. It is so hard to accept and understand what has happened to my lovely wee brother and to have to say goodbye... Bertie

There's a gift in life you cannot buy, it's very rare but true, The gift of a wonderful son-in-law, like the one we had in you, So if memories keep us close, then we're never far apart, you're always in our minds ,and forever in our hearts. From Percy and Celia.

I only met Alistair twice and on both occasions I was struck by the compassion and love that I saw in his eyes. His wonderful daughter Maria, is a special and valued friend. Alistair loved his family ... that was very evident. He extended hospitality to my son Joshua and his kindness will be always remembered.
